Creatures of Imagination
Carol's passion is wordplay. Her charming sculptures tell inventive three-dimensional stories that interweave puns, mythology, biology and interspecies observations on life. Using traditional papier and cloth in very untraditional ways, these sculptors give a glimpse of the soul inside each creature.
Endearing natural sculptures handmade one at a time
Creatures that defy classification are born from the fertile imagination and deft fingers of Carol Willett, a North Carolina artist who lives in a seventeen-sided house by the sea. She recycles plastic, paper, cloth, natural and manmade objects into sculptures whose names and individual stories are as interesting and amusing as their appearance.
